The Wehebach reservoir is a lovely place to walk from Großhau or Kleinhau. In the lower section, you pass a beaver dam with a covered viewpoint. The view of the reservoir is beautiful. Sometimes you can walk all the way to the bridge where the Weberbach stream flows into the reservoir. When the reservoir is high, the bridge is submerged. It was once part of the Schevenhütten road that led from Kleinhau to Schevenhütte. Today, the road is submerged in the reservoir.

The trail usually ends here, forcing you to turn back. Very little water is needed to attempt a crossing. Nevertheless, it's worth stopping to experience the peace and quiet of this valley.

In May 2024, the Wehebach Dam reached its summer storage target for the first time since it was put into operation. The area now flooded is impressive.

The Wehebach Dam was built in the 1980s and serves as a flood protection and drinking water supply for the region. The Wehebach Dam is fed by several streams, including the Wehebach, which gives it its name. From the dam wall, you have a magnificent view of the lake. Swimming and boating are prohibited, however.
