Zahren was first mentioned in 1235. The impressive, restored manor house is a brick building with a plastered street-facing roof and a dormer window. A Star of David adorns the window in the rear gable. The outbuilding is a listed building and privately owned. It is intended for use for conferences, seminars, and the like.

The view of Lake Plauer See and the adjacent Leistener Lanke is particularly charming – a tranquil panorama of water, forest, and expanse. From the shoreline path, the view opens up over the expansive lake, whose smooth surface reflects the light and the clouds. The Leistener Lanke, a quiet bay in the southeastern part of the lake, seems almost like an enchanted tributary – surrounded by reeds, trees, and often visited by herons and cormorants. Here, open water and natural shores merge into a peaceful, almost untouched scene. When there's no wind, everything is as smooth as glass – when the waves are rough, the lake appears vibrant and expansive. Ideal for quiet moments, to pause, or to take photos. Simply amazing! 🤩

Very beautiful church

The Plauerhagen church, built in 1784 to replace a previous, dilapidated church, is of simple beauty, yet it even has a bell tower! Today, the interior of the church is in immaculate condition. A winter chapel was built beneath the gallery, and the windows are stained glass. The most valuable piece of furniture is the baptismal font.
