Tuttlingen is a medium-sized town in the south of Baden-Württemberg. It is the district capital and largest town in the Tuttlingen district and a medium-sized centre within the Black Forest-Baar-Heuberg region, to whose central area all 36 towns and communities in the district belong.

The core idea was to develop a continuous green belt along the northern bank of the Danube. The creation of a green lung in the center of the city and the integration of a wide variety of uses was pursued with the redesign of the approximately ten-hectare green area. Putting the river back at the center of the city and revitalizing the banks was another goal.
