🌲 The Barger Heide is a beautiful natural area just outside Stade and is easily accessible from Klein Thun on foot or by bicycle. You'll find a classic geest landscape with heather, juniper, and expansive sandy areas. It's especially stunning during the heather bloom in late summer, but even in winter, the vast expanse offers wonderful tranquility.

The Hagen estate and mill complex, including the manor house, is situated on the millpond. The watermill and millpond with its weir are located here. The manor house is a beautiful, stately villa-like building surrounded by a garden, while the watermill is a simple brick structure with remnants of the waterwheel. The estate and its surroundings are listed as historical monuments. The Hagen Mill is located within the city limits of Stade. Its current form as an estate with a manor house, watermill, millpond, and weir dates back to around 1910. It is a lovely spot to visit. A short walk or drive into the adjacent forest leads to a bench with a wonderful view of the millpond. The best time to visit is in spring and autumn, as the view becomes obscured by vegetation during the summer months.
