이 건물은 1738년과 1739년 사이에 바로크 양식과 웅장한 스타일로 지어졌습니다. 처음에는 덴마크의 "징벌 및 정신병동"으로 사용되었습니다. 나중에는 정신병원의 전신이 되었습니다. 1875년부터 1927년까지 요새와 같은 이 단지는 순수 여성 교도소로 사용되었습니다. 때로는 최대 800명의 수감자가 이곳에 수용되었습니다. 또한 안뜰에는 역사적인 처형 장소가 있었습니다. 교도소로 폐쇄된 후 문화재로 지정된 이 화려한 건물은 1931년부터 완전히 개조되었습니다. 오늘날에는 17개의 주거 단위로 구성된 주거 단지를 수용하고 있습니다.

글뤼크슈타트의 역사적인 소금 창고는 풍경적으로 중요한 해변 도로인 Am Hafen 63에 위치해 있습니다. 3층짜리 벽돌 건물은 1827년에 지어졌습니다. 특징적인 녹색 창문 덧문, 붉은 벽돌 지붕, 곡선형 박공이 있는 눈에 띄는 맹가르드(Zwerghaus)가 특징입니다. 역사적인 창고의 지하에는 현재 아르테콰리움(Artequarium)이 있으며, 워크숍, 콘서트, 독서회를 위한 갤러리, 아틀리에, 창의적인 행사 장소로 사용됩니다.

제방 안이나 밖에서 탈 수 있지만 항상 제방 꼭대기에서 탈 수 있는 것은 아닙니다. 엘베 강이 보이는 바깥쪽이 가장 아름답습니다. 안쪽에는 멋진 집들이 있습니다.

The Krautsand lighthouse today consists of a distinctive red and white steel lattice upper light (1907) and a modern, fiberglass lower light (1978), which together form a leading line to guide ships safely through the Elbe River. This line is characterized by a synchronized flashing pattern of 8 seconds, designed to facilitate navigation. The old lower light tower was demolished in 1978; the new lower light is a slender fiberglass structure. Krautsand Upper Light (The Visible Landmark): Year Built: 1907.
