A very beautiful fountain at the southern end of the main square.

The Linz Main Square is the city center of Linz and, at 13,140 m², is one of the largest built squares in Austria. It is only separated from the Danube by a street and the buildings at the bridgehead.

The Trinity Column is right in the center of the main square and rounds off the square nicely. The column can be clearly seen from every point of the square.

The main square is a wonderful place to drink coffee, eat and stroll around while watching interesting people. Events and markets also take place here from time to time.

The column was erected in 1713 out of gratitude as a trigger for defense against the plague epidemics of 1679 and 1713, the dangers of war in 1683, 1703/1704 and a major fire in 1712.

Initially very industrial, but things get better in Linz itself ;-)

During the Advent season, the main square resembles a sea of lights and the Trinity Column monitors the spectacle.😉✨️🔔🌟

분수는 8각형 모양의 연못으로 구성되어 있으며, 그 측벽에는 Josef Huber가 만든 오스트리아 상부의 7개 주도(Enns, Freistadt, Gmunden, Linz, Steyr, Vöcklabruck 및 Wels)의 문장 방패가 묘사되어 있습니다. 중앙 기둥은 흰색 대리석으로 만들어졌으며, 4개의 볼류트 사이에 물을 뿜는 4개의 사자 머리와 그 위에는 역시 물을 뿜는 4개의 돌고래가 있습니다. Johann Spatz가 만든 넵튠 동상이 분수에 이름을 붙였습니다. 하지만 이 동상은 분실되었습니다.
