The walls of the Weißenstein castle ruins can be seen high above the district town of Regen. The mighty castle once offered protection to the land and its people and served as the seat of ministers. The Weißenstein castle ruins are enthroned at around 750 m above sea level, directly on the white quartz rock of the pile that stretches through the Bavarian Forest. From the castle, built on pile quartz rock, you can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the "northern forest" at dizzying heights.
