You can practically walk around the shore, with a few exceptions, since there is little private property near the shore.

A very nice place, but it's full of mosquitoes. Therefore spray thoroughly with Autan and preferably wear long trousers.

Nice clean lake. Here you can swim, picnic, ride a bike, hike. Everything a natural heart desires.

@Frank from Hönow is probably right. I found the following article about this: https://www.maz-online.de/Lokales/Oberhavel/Muehlenbecker-Land/Schloss-Dammsmuehle-Viel-Zusracht-fuer-Restaurant-und-Hotelprojekt. Since I like to do a lost place tour, I'm a little bit divided. But all that stops the decay is ok

The Mühlenbecker See is a somewhat hidden but beautiful forest lake.

the 9-10 kilometer circular route is ideal. It's very varied. In the south-western section in particular, the lake is very boggy and scenic. The paths are not technically demanding. The roots invite small children to run around, especially on the north side of the lake. In sections, the path is also a bit damp and boggy. I wouldn't necessarily want to hike here for a long time immediately after it rains.

At the site of today's Dammsmühle Palace, there was already a mill in the 16th century, acquired in 1755 by the Berlin leather manufacturer Peter Friedrich Damm. He erected the building of the Dammsmühle Palace as a two-storey palace. After the end of the war in 1945, the castle was occupied by the Red Army. In 1959 the East German Stasi took over the house and used it as a hunting lodge until 1989. After reunification, the castle served as a hotel for a short time. Unfortunately, today it is a ruin with an uncertain future
