The Belchen is not the highest mountain, but it is one of the most beautiful mountains in the Black Forest, because it offers visitors a fantastic panoramic view of the Rhine Valley, the Vosges and, in good weather, even as far as the Alps. As one of the most popular excursion destinations in the southern Black Forest, the Belchen is well frequented all year round.

The tower, named after the Baden Grand Duke Friedrich I and his wife Luise, was built in 1913 and is now used by the German Weather Service as a weather radar system, which is housed in the radome above.

These then plunge together with a loud roar in two stages over a huge granite massif into the valley. A beautiful place also nicely prepared with the climbs to the left and right of the waterfall. I also think the loungers below the waterfall are very well made.

A mountain path with a high alpine character leads around the Belchen summit. The tree-free summit gives a great view of the mountains all around.
