Lake Freiberg is located at 930 m above sea level. With a surface area of approximately 16 hectares, it is the largest high mountain lake in the Allgäu region. The lake was formed during the Ice Age, when the ice masses of the Stillach Glacier towered 700 to 800 m above its present location.

The largest hut of the German Alpine Club gave us a very hospitable welcome. The accommodation and food are great!

The Rappenseehütte is one of the largest DAV huts in the area. The view of the surrounding peaks is definitely worth it. Depending on how you want to climb, you can enjoy attractive peaks with wonderful climbing and hiking passages.

The Rappenseehütte is also a nice place for a break.

The Freibergsee natural pool is a good recommendation for nice weather!

The Moorweiher on the Dienersberg is fantastically beautiful in the landscape. Many water lilies can be found on the pond.
