The view of Frankfurt from Falkenstein Castle is simply breathtaking. From the castle ruins you have a fantastic view of the Frankfurt skyline and the wide Rhine-Main plain. Especially in clear weather you can enjoy the impressive silhouette of the city and the surrounding landscapes.

The entrance fee of 2 euros is definitely worth it, as you can enjoy a great view from here. Unfortunately the tower is currently closed.

One of the more recent attractions in Wiesbaden is the classicist Jagdschloss Platte, built on a plateau north of Wiesbaden. It was commissioned by Duke Wilhelm I of Nassau in 1823. After it fell victim to World War II, it was partially rebuilt in the late 1980s and today serves as an event venue. A wonderful destination open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1pm to 5pm, Saturday from 1pm to 6pm and Sundays and public holidays from 11am to 6pm. In winter, only special tours of Kronberg Castle are possible. Otherwise, the castle is also pretty to look at from the outside during the winter break.
