The G7 summit took place there in 2015 (incidentally, the retreat opened there that year; anyone who thinks the politicians were just there is a scoundrel 😬). In front of the palace, there's a bench with information from the G7 participants; it's naturally an excellent photo spot.

Beautiful castle from the early 20th century. Of course you are only allowed in as a guest, but it is worth a visit just to see the outside.

Such nonsense, you don't have to walk the street, there is a very nice hiking trail from Elmau via the Kranzbach and then behind the Kranzbach to Klais.

interesting ruin, with a beautiful view over the Loisach valley, worth a visit for that alone 👍 Some panels explain the origin and meaning, there is no entrance fee, you can stroll through the small complex in peace 👌
