The "Royal Villa" Linderhof Castle in the Upper Bavarian municipality of Ettal in southern Bavaria is a castle of the Bavarian King Ludwig II. It was built in several construction phases from 1870 to 1886 in the Neo-Rococo style.

interesting ruin, with a beautiful view over the Loisach valley, worth a visit for that alone 👍 Some panels explain the origin and meaning, there is no entrance fee, you can stroll through the small complex in peace 👌

To avoid the large number of visitors, a visit in winter when there is snow is worthwhile. You can't visit all the houses (apart from the castle), but you can get great scenic impressions!

The park alone is worth a trip at any time of year. There is no admission fee! You can also cross the park to cycle to Graswang, for example. In summer, the small but beautiful castle gets extremely busy. If you want to go in, you should arrive early and check the opening times online.
