Just underneath the Ennstaler Hut

Closed in winter, but the open winter room protects against wind and weather. A bed with a blanket is provided, as is a heater, although I believe you have to pay 1 euro for that. It's the same in other winter rooms, at least the ones I know of.

Unfortunately closed in winter - but fantastic views of the surrounding natural beauty.

The Heß Hut is named after the Gesäuse pioneer Heinrich Hess. It was expanded and modernized in 1996. The cozy hut atmosphere was nevertheless preserved.

Very cozy hut, beautifully furnished, large terrace, deck chairs... And starting point for numerous hikes and climbs.

Overnight stay possible (3 camps). Easy-going hut owner who cares about the well-being of his guests and where the food and drink on offer comes from. - Very good food, cooked by two Nepalese. If you take half board you get seconds as often as you want (even 3 times :)) Breakfast is surprisingly varied with homemade hummus. - Cozy dining room inside and seating outside with a great view.

Very good food at reasonable prices and very friendly service, great view of the Gesäuse mountains from the terrace and room window.
