The meeting point is on the summit plateau. A little away from the road, you can enjoy the wide view over the Hintertaunus from here. When the visibility is good, you can see as far as the Westerwald and the Vogelsberg.

The city of Nidda itself is worth a visit. The Hotel Zur Traube has its own brewery, "good beer" and the food there is nothing to complain about. The portions are more than sufficient. The team is great. The only thing that could still be improved is a somewhat generous space for the wheels.

The Westhafen was opened in 1886 and is a former inland port. The counterpart to this is the Osthafen in Ostend. Wikipedia writes..... The harbor mole (Karpfenweg) is now built up to the river crayfish bridge with twelve individual seven-storey residential buildings. Some of them stand on stilts in the water and have their own boat docks. The Westhafen Tower, a glazed high-rise office building with a circular floor plan, has stood at the eastern entrance since 2003. It was one of the first buildings to be completed at the former west port. At 109 meters, the Westhafen Tower is one of the smaller Frankfurt skyscrapers. Because of its diamond-shaped facade, the people of Frankfurt also refer to it as the largest Ebbel wine glass in the world, or "Geripptes". On the western side of the bank section, just before the Main-Neckar Bridge, further office buildings (Torhaus, Westhafen Pier, etc.) were built in front of Mainova's western combined heat and power plant on Gutleutstrasse by 2004. The listed pressure water plant is also located here, the last historical building of the former port facilities. It is part of the Rhein-Main Industrial Heritage Route.

Once you have made the climb through the scree, you are in a somehow mystical place. Especially when the weather is bad and it is hazy, foggy and the surrounding area is covered in clouds.

Definitely a very family-friendly bike path. The signage can still be improved. For those who are not local it would be helpful if the sign "Niddatour" were attached to all signposts. The variety of local destinations is often confusing (and the locals probably need them less).
