The "Dreieckiger Pfahl" shelter with the Harz hiking badge stamp is located near a stone border marker that used to separate the Kingdom of Hanover and the Duchy of Brunswick. Our shelters in the Harz National Park are usually located in places worth seeing and are therefore popular hiking destinations. They serve as a short-term rest and break option and as protection in the event of bad weather. Overnight stays are only permitted in an emergency. The waterfall at the Steinerne Renne restaurant is a highlight in itself. But when the snow melts, the river carries a lot of water and you can also see smaller waterfalls from time to time.

A beautiful stream blocked with granite stones. Cool in summer and beautifully decorated with ice cream in winter.

After rain or thaw it is a stunning sight.
