Faaborg Churchyard – A place of remembrance and tranquility. Faaborg's main cemetery, often simply referred to as Faaborg Churchyard, is a well-maintained and tranquil space that combines both historical and modern elements. It is located near the city center and easily accessible – ideal for a quiet stroll or as a stop on a hike through the city. Older sections of the cemetery feature ornate gravestones and tell the story of Faaborg's past. New grave plots and well-maintained paths make the cemetery a place of dignity and reflection. The square is also the starting point for several popular hikes, such as to the Faaborg Museum or up to Lerbjerg, the highest point in the region. Faaborg's old town is one of the best-preserved in Denmark. Particularly noteworthy is the free-standing bell tower of the old town church of St. Nicholas, which was abandoned and demolished after the Reformation to make way for the Holy Spirit Monastery Church as the new parish church.

Faaborg Church is part of an old monastery complex, built from 1477 onwards and now demolished. The Church of the Holy Spirit was named after the monastic order that also built it. Compared to the size of the town, the church is very impressive: It is 46 meters long, 19 meters wide in the nave, and 8 meters wide in the chancel. Lerbjerg is the fourth highest point on Funen and is located in the Svanninge Mountains nature reserve, which is owned by the Bikuben Foundation. Lerbjerg is 126 meters high, and from the hill there is a fantastic view over South Funen and the South Funen archipelago.
