Beautiful view of the small Gleichberg

The townscape is characterized by a multitude of listed half-timbered houses in the Henneberg-Franconian style. Many of these houses feature beautiful gables and ornamental corners. The school and community center, as well as the two bakehouses, were also built in this style. House No. 23, the oldest building in the village, is the only one to have survived the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War and the period following it. Dingsleben had approximately 315 inhabitants before the war, and only two afterward. The two old village fountains, which now splash water again after extensive restoration, are traditionally decorated during the Easter season. At the foot of the Großer Gleichberg, above the monument, stands this oak tree, designated as a natural monument. The surrounding area was recently redesigned. A new bridge now spans the small ditch, and a bench sits directly beneath the tree, inviting visitors to linger. A display with an insect hotel and an information panel on appropriate conduct in the nature reserve has also been installed. These improvements have created an attractive environment.
