You can reach it with some effort (without support) by cycling up from Fehrenbach to the source of the Werra. Or, at a more moderate pace, take the Masserberg Höhenweg from Waffenrod.

Cycle path at Ratscher See, unfortunately without water 😩

A small park at the entrance to the village, co-sponsored by the Waffenrod Hunting Association, as clearly stated on the bench. The area was redesigned in 2018, along with the Diana Fountain. The view from here is only of the village, as the area is located within the village. For a panoramic view, you have to drive to the edge of the village.

Very nicely designed, there are several options for continuing your journey from here.

A beautifully designed rest area with the typical Rensteig R at the base of the benches and vertical planks. Downhill leads to Fehrenbach, and straight ahead to Waffenrod.

The newly designed trail helps you find your way around. Very nicely done. It's only one kilometer to the Werraquellhütte. Numerous other destinations are accessible from here.

The Thuringian Forest is simply stunningly beautiful 😊.
