This impressive and very rare trumpet tree (Catalpa bignonioides) grows very close to the magnificent Chinese teahouse and behind a bench. It even shades the bench. Striking are its large, heart-shaped leaves and, in the fall, the thread-like, drooping fruits that resemble extra-long beans. These strange "beans" can grow up to 40 cm long and a maximum of 1 cm thick. This robust plant is native to the southern United States. Its broad, spreading crown is typical. The trumpet tree can reach heights of up to 25 meters.

Built in 1842 as an entrance to the game park.

The Green Gate was designed by Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse and built in 1850. The gate's name simply comes from the green paint it is painted in. The gate is decorated with intricate wrought ironwork and is crowned by two lanterns. These and other decorations within the gate were finished with gold leaf. The ornate initials of King Frederick William IV were also incorporated into the center of each gate leaf, completing the appearance of the Green Gate, making it a magnificent gate.

At the entrance to the Sanssouci Park in Potsdam, in quiet seclusion, lies the Church of Peace, modeled after an Italian monastery and grouped around a delicate bell tower. Frederick William IV had it built as a court and parish church between 1845 and 1848, and he and his wife are buried there. An artificial pond was created solely for the church.
