The memorial stone stands near an old linden tree, completely encircled by a bench. A weather shelter stands not far from the tree. This linden tree was also known locally as the "Bikenhördt Linden" (see Eitelmann, p. 150). The abbreviation "P.W.V." stands for the Palatinate Forest Association.

Since 2012, the "Sculpture Garden" in the community park in Schweigen-Rechtenbach has been a place for encounters with sculpture, with annually changing art exhibitions. In 2025, more than 20 current works by twelve contemporary regional and nationally renowned sculptors will be on display. Using a wide variety of classic sculptural materials such as stone, wood, steel, ceramics, and concrete, the artists from the Palatinate, Baden, and Alsace created figurative and abstract works, which they now present here in the sculpture garden.

In January 2025, there were only two sculptures here, including Gabriele Köbler's "Swimmer" (2019, painted in fine concrete), which at first glance could be mistaken for a real woman in a bathing suit! The memorial to the fallen of World War II is located at the far right. (The memorial to World War I hangs on the Protestant church.)

"The Protestant [Christ] Church of Schweigen, formerly St. Eustachius, has its origins in the Gothic period. The tower from the 14th century has been preserved from the medieval church. The basement of the medieval tower forms the choir of the former church, which is covered with a Gothic cross-ribbed vault. A keystone depicting an Easter lamb is embedded in the apex." Source (quoted verbatim): https://www.sternenweg.net/aktuelles/2016/wegezeichen-schweigen-rechtenbach/Medieninformation_Schweigen_de.pdf This church "belongs to the catchment area of a [St. James's] route axis that once ran along the Haardt in the direction of Strasbourg." The European model project "Sternenweg - Chemin des Etoiles" places waymarks (= stone scallop shells) along this pilgrimage route at places of medieval architecture to commemorate the pilgrims of the Middle Ages "who once traveled through this old cultural landscape and inspired Europe's roots." Source (partly quoted verbatim): Information board at the church entrance The stone scallop shell is on the ground in front of the information board at the church entrance (directly under a bench). The old linden tree in front of the church is a natural monument! The memorial for the fallen of the First World War hangs to the right of the church entrance.
