Historic bright yellow building with a mill wheel on the Lauter not far from the city center. Very atmospheric overall picture. We always like to walk past there when we are in Wissembourg.

The mountain church was built by the Lutheran community between 1720 and 1730. According to the list of monuments, it is dated 1733. The construction was financially supported by Karoline von Nassau-Zweibrücken, who lived in Bergzabern Castle as a widow and used it as a castle church at the time. Because there was no royal box, a barred pew was built for the rulers. The mother of Duchess Karoline, Countess Philippine Henriette von Nassau-Zweibrücken, and her sister, Princess Henriette, are buried in the crypt under the altar. The mountain church is built in the Baroque style. Its coffered ceiling represents the firmament with golden stars, sun and moon. A special feature of the pulpit, in addition to the crown sounding board, is a sermon hourglass.
