Lech Dam 18 near Kaufering is a run-of-river power plant on the Lech River with a capacity of 16.7 MW and a head of 13.3 m. In operation since 1975, it is operated by Uniper Kraftwerke and feeds electricity into the Bayernwerk AG grid.

From the shore, you have a direct view of the wide reservoir, framed by green meadows and wooded shorelines. Especially at sunrise or sunset, the sky and landscape are reflected picturesquely in the water—a true delight for hikers, photographers, and nature lovers.

The Maria Hilf pilgrimage church in Klosterlechfeld was founded around 1603 by Regina von Imhof and soon developed into an important place of pilgrimage. In 1624, Franciscans took over the care of the pilgrims and established a monastery next to the church. The current building dates from the 18th century and impresses with its Baroque rotunda form, elaborate Rococo stucco work, and colorful ceiling frescoes. Opposite the church is Calvary Hill, with its Stations of the Cross and three crosses, which completes the spiritual ensemble. To this day, the church remains a place of worship and a destination for pilgrims and culture-loving visitors.
