Tree species: Large-leaved linden. Age: 200 years. In 1888, the people of Schwifting donated a mission cross next to their linden tree, and a memorial stone was placed to mark the town's 1,000th anniversary. A Bavarian folk song goes: "I sat by the linden tree I like to sit by the linden tree I love to sit there, when it's a lovely, windy day I can hear my heart pounding."
