Selchow Castle, built in 1913 as a bourgeois summer residence for a prominent industrialist, is situated directly adjacent to the Gross-Schauener-Seenkette nature reserve. Now, the 1,200 m² villa with its 2-hectare park offers the comforts of a boutique hotel, including a 150 m² spa (sauna/cold plunge pool), cinema, bar, library, fireplace, and billiards.

The Storkow region is home to rare salt marshes, among the largest of their kind in Europe. You can discover this unique natural phenomenon on the Salt Trail. From the eight-meter-high observation tower in the Marschallwiesen, you'll have a sweeping view of the landscape – ideal for observing cranes and many other bird species in their natural habitat.

Here you'll find a lovely restaurant, a farm shop, and exciting events are occasionally offered. My recommendation is the freshly made sandwiches from the farm shop. They're quickly prepared in front of your eyes and are delicious. If the weather's nice, you can enjoy them outside on the picnic benches or head down to the lake, where there are also some seating areas. The Salt Trail near Storkow in the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park leads to four stations dedicated to rare inland salt springs – places where saline water naturally surfaces. These special habitats provide an important refuge for rare plant and bird species, such as the lapwing and the common snipe, and are protected under European law (NATURA 2000). The salt springs were once used commercially; today, they are primarily important for nature conservation and research. The circular trail provides information about the region's geology, land use history, and biodiversity at the stations at the train station, Storkow Castle, Möllensdorf Meadows, and Bruchwiesen.
