At the Großer Plessower See you can still find the remains of a fortified low castle from the late Middle Ages. From 1616 to 1945, Zolchow always belonged to the Plessow line of the von Rochow family. All that remains are the listed ruins of the basement rooms.

The Großer Plessower See in the urban area of Werder (Havel) lies in an Ice Age channel that was formed around 19,000 years ago. The lake is 5.1 km long and 1.3 km wide. Its deepest point is 16 m. The lake is very rich in fish, which is why it serves as a resting area for many bird species. Here you can, among other things: observe numerous great egrets.

The Plessow village church was built between 1866 and 1870. In the church there is an organ by Johann Gottlieb Scholtze from Ruppin, built in 1760 and restored by Fahlberg Orgelbau from Eberswalde in 2000.

Landowner Friedrich Ludwig V. von Rochow had the castle built in Plessow around 1780. After 1945, the manor house was inhabited by war refugees. From 1948 to 1951, a business school from what was then the state of Brandenburg was located here. During the GDR era, the building housed a training center for the Ministry of Foreign Trade and later the GDR customs school. Today the manor house is used as a branch of the Federal Finance Administration's educational center.
