The jetty offers a great view of the pond, but unfortunately you can't get any further along the water.

The oak avenue running northwest (which, by the way, is lined with more than just oak trees) is part of the St. Bernard's Path, a pilgrimage route commemorating St. Bernard of Clairvaux and his spiritual legacy, and which also leads to the deaconess cemetery of Lehnin Monastery, which is well worth seeing.

When visiting Lehnin Monastery, it's essential to walk through the former farmyard. In the area between the northern gatehouse and the Amtshof (official courtyard), there are several interesting buildings, such as the rent collector's house, the schoolhouse, and the northern gatehouse, which features a sandstone plaque above the archway commemorating Consistory President Steinhausen. These three buildings are used as guest houses.

When visiting the monastery, it's important to keep in mind that the monastery church is only open to the public during a very limited timeframe. Currently (August 2025), the opening hours during the summer months are as follows: Monday - Friday: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. So be sure to check in advance. We've conveniently placed the visit at the end of our tour.
