No matter which direction you arrive in Krakow am See, the observation tower on Jörnberg welcomes you. The observation platform of the now 28-meter-tall tower is located almost 100 meters above sea level. Visitors who climb the tower's 126 steps are rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of Krakow's glittering lake labyrinth. After the first wooden observation tower was built on the same site in 1897, a new reinforced concrete structure followed. The Bismarck Tower, erected in 1907, was made of reinforced concrete by a Rostock company. It reached a height of 13.40 meters up to the observation platform. For many years, this tower served as a center of attraction for Krakow's citizens and visitors. It was later demolished as a result of the war. The route is very beautiful, but the section through the Schwinzer Heide is very sandy, which poses problems for cyclists.

Concrete slabs are easy to ride. Road bikes aren't really suitable. Gravel is fine.

It's a nice long route along the canal and you meet other cyclists 😀

The fine gravel is peppered with many large stones (3-4 cm). Interspersed with sections with many sandy patches. Still manageable for mountain bikers or gravel riders, but the touring cyclists had already given up on the cobblestones. I cycled from Krakow to Güstrow; a more pleasant route would probably have been Krakow>Bellin>Kirch Rosin (cycle path)>Güstrow.
