The bell tower at the metallurgical square was built in 1811. Both bells were cast in the same year at the Torgelower Hütte from bog ore. They were decorated with the Prussian coat of arms and the inscription "Torgelow".

In 1753/54, by order of King Frederick II, an ironworks was established near the village of Torgelow. The central point of the plant became Hutniczy Square, initially called Hutniczy Dziedziniec, with a dominant bell tower and the manager's house. The blast furnace, built in 1756, was the first of its kind in Pomerania and processed local bog ores using charcoal from the surrounding forests. Agricultural tools, household appliances and ammunition for the Prussian army were produced here. The Uecker River provided necessary energy and transportation. After privatization in 1861, the site was taken over by the Vollgold steelworks and later by Märkisches Elektrizitätswerk until 1945. After the war, the building served various functions, including: residential, school, police and museum. The bell tower was built in 1811, and the bells were cast from bog ore in Torgelow, decorated with the Prussian coat of arms. The iron processing tradition continued until 1991. In 2016-2018, Plac Hutniczy was renovated and the manager's house was sold to a private investor who converted it into apartments.
