Castrum Turglowe
Castrum Turglowe - the medieval center is a reconstruction of a medieval small town, based on historical finds from the 12th/13th centuries. Century in the city center of Torgelow
Medieval craftsmen such as potters, weavers and chain mail knitters can be watched at work and tried out for yourself. During river boat trips to row yourself on the "Agnes" or archery with historical arrows, you feel transported back to the medieval daily routine.
Castrum Turglowe is an attempt to present a piece of local history in order to vividly illustrate high medieval ways of life in front of archaeological historical sources. The medieval castle ruins in the center of the town of Torgelow are the meeting point and starting point for a group hike back in time.
The paths of archeology and historical research crossed for the first time in the medieval castle ruins of Torgelow Castle in a document from 1281, when the Brandenburg-Ascanian Margraves Otto IV and Konrad signed a document for the monastery on April 14 at Torgelow Castle Buckow (probably near Kolberg) signed. Visitors of the castle ruins, young or old, are already asking numerous questions at this point.
In the adjoining villa, the Ukranenland e.V. association has been creating a multimedia exhibition on the life of Margrave Otto IV since May 2013, which takes visitors back to the 13th century using digital technology.
