View of Peenemünde

A tranquil village with its idyllic fishing port and wonderful bathing beach. Here you can still have close contact with the fishermen.

A picturesque little harbor – probably primarily for fishing, but also serving ferry services to destinations including Peenemünde. The overall picture is rounded off by the plentiful restaurants.

From the port in Freest there is an excursion and regular connection to Peenemünde and Kröslin as well as to the islands of Ruden and the Greifswalder Oie.

The fishing port of Freest is located at the mouth of the Peene opposite the more well-known town of Peenemündung on the island of Usedom. Fishing remains an important, albeit dwindling, industry in Freest.

The key here is a view PLUS a bench. A nice place to chill.

Here you can still buy fish from the cutter or strengthen yourself with fish rolls and the sea.

Very nice beach and an ideal bathing area for visitors with small children, as you can walk very far out here until it gets deeper. In addition, the small fishing village of Freest is definitely worth a visit. You can buy super fresh fish here and you can take the ferry over to Usedom / Peenemünde and back again☺
