At the Fegetasche bathing area in Plön, visitors have access to special lounge chairs that have been permanently installed by the town. However, there is no traditional rental service for mobile sun loungers (like on the Baltic Sea coast).

In the heart of the old town, right on the market square, St. Nicholas Church dominates Plön's cityscape. The massive brick building with its 60-meter-high tower replaced a Baroque church that had burned down after being struck by lightning between 1866 and 1868. Due to a lack of funds, the ruins remained standing for over two years. The church facade clearly shows the 17th-century masonry that was reused in the new construction. Following the prevailing taste of the time, the architecture was based on medieval Romanesque and Gothic stylistic elements, incorporating remnants of the foundation walls that survived the fire. St. Nicholas Church hosts numerous concerts, ranging from sacred music to guest performances by artists such as Vicky Leandros. Musical highlights include the concerts held as part of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.

Autumn at Schöhsee in Plön (Holstein Switzerland) is known for its particularly beautiful and peaceful atmosphere.

We visited here in winter. It was very beautiful here, even at this time of year.

Evening atmosphere at Lake Schöhsee. Situated in a hilly landscape, the lake is bordered by extensively managed grassland to the north and east, a mixed forest to the southeast, an allotment garden and a cemetery on the southern shore, as well as private gardens, a fishing club on the western shore, and a path that runs directly along the lake for approximately 800 meters. West of the cemetery is a large, unguarded bathing area, and another bathing area can be found in the forest.
