We visited here in winter. It was very beautiful here, even at this time of year.

Lake Neukirchen is a lake in the municipality of Malente in the Ostholstein district of Schleswig-Holstein, located directly east of the village of Neukirchen. It lies in Holstein Switzerland, surrounded by a hilly moraine landscape.

It is an idyllic village

Swimming area on the Großer Plöner See (Great Plön Lake) with a sandy beach, playground, and sunbathing lawn. The long, sandy beach is the ideal swimming spot for families. A sunbathing lawn, benches, a hammock, a slide, mini-golf, and a small playground invite you to linger. The water is gently sloping and marked with a non-swimmer's boundary. Shady spots and a jetty into the water are available, as are changing facilities and restrooms.

Clearly visible from the road, the memorial cross stands at a considerable height. I was only able to manage the climb on my e-bike in turbo gear. The view from the top is quite nice, but not spectacular. The cross commemorates the victims of both world wars. The names of the fallen are inscribed on small stones around the cross. You should treat yourself to a few quiet moments here.
