The Cruise Terminal Rotterdam is located in the heart of the city, on the Erasmus Bridge. Anyone who docks here with a cruise ship has the best views of Rotterdam (I speak from personal experience). It's one of the most beautiful cruise terminals on the cruise route (metropolises departing from Hamburg with the AIDAperla).

The merchant navy played a crucial role in the war. No heroic deeds like storming a beach or capturing a bridge, but they did help ensure supplies reached places where they were desperately needed. This monument is a tribute to the 3,500 sailors who perished on Dutch merchant ships.

The cable-stayed bridge with its angled pylon has connected the city center with the Kop van Zuid since 1996. Thanks to Ben van Berkel's successful design, the structure, named after the philosopher Erasmus of Rotterdam, has become a landmark.
