This bridge can always be used. You can cycle from the bridge in different directions, to Delft, Schiedam, or on the other side towards the Ackerdijkseplassen or along the Schie to Rotterdam.

The tunnel is superbly designed, well-lit, and has top-quality asphalt. Access on the south side is a bit difficult, as you have to drive right through Pernis's industrial area—but that's always a bit difficult when there are highways in the way.

The NV Dok en Werf Maatschappij Wilton-Fijenoord (WF) was a shipyard in Schiedam between 1929 and 1999, specialized in ship repair and shipbuilding. From 1971 to 1983 it was part of the RSV group. The shipbuilding was closed in 1988. The repair department of the company is now part of Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam BV, part of Damen Shipyards Group. I have often been to this shipyard for my work as a marine engineer. It is good to see that there is still a lot of activity in the field of shipping/repair and offshore. The ship that is moored at Huisman is the Seaway Ventus, a large self-propelled jack-up installation vessel designed to install wind turbines and monopile foundations at sea. To make this possible, 130 personnel can stay on board. The ship can install wind turbines in water depths of up to 65 meters. The wind turbines can extend up to 182 metres above the water. The vessel is equipped with a crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 2,500 tonnes in retracted mode and 1,600 tonnes in extended mode.

Great little place - we were lucky enough to be able to see Maasluis during a town festival. I thought it was really worth seeing how the canals were included in the festival!
