The Maastunnel is the oldest submerged tunnel in the Netherlands. It connects the banks of the Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam. The tunnel consists of four tubes: two for cars, one for cyclists and one for pedestrians. Construction started in 1937 and was completed in 1942.

The SS Rotterdam is a former passenger ship built in the 1950s for the Holland-America Line (HAL). Launched in 1959, the ship was one of the largest and most luxurious ocean liners of its time. The SS Rotterdam primarily sailed on transatlantic routes between Europe and North America. The ship had an impressive size of approximately 231 meters and could accommodate over 1,400 passengers. The interior was designed in an elegant style, with great attention to detail and luxurious amenities, including restaurants, lounges, swimming pools and a theater. After its active service as a passenger ship, the SS Rotterdam was decommissioned in 2000. In 2008, the ship was restored and converted into a hotel and museum, which is now located in the port of Rotterdam. Visitors can explore the ship, learn more about the history of seafaring and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this iconic vessel. The SS Rotterdam is an important symbol of the maritime history of the Netherlands and attracts many tourists every year.
