A beautiful, small, and above all quiet place. I had a few beads of sweat on my forehead before every bridge. Some of them seem to be a bit dated. And were they expecting heavily laden e-bike tourists back then? I don't know :) But it all held up.

The annual Gonelvaart event in Belt-Schlutsloot features numerous homemade boats. A fantastic experience.

Giethoorn, the village without a road, is how the village introduces itself on its website. It's a pretty little place that's now heavily geared towards tourists. Nevertheless, the place is absolutely worth seeing.

Here you'll see lots of geese, storks, grey herons, and the occasional deer. I've explored the national park on foot and by bike, and I definitely prefer the bike. The national park is very extensive, the paths are all paved or concrete and are great for cycling, but can be tiring on foot.

Wooden bicycle bridge in the middle of the meadows and grasslands, beautiful! The bridge is steep from one side, so be careful when riding over it.
