The water tower was built in 1932. It's 31.5 meters tall and decorated with a tulip on each of its four sides. Now it houses a flower shop, a B&B, and a house, and the tower is for sale!

At the historic lock of Roelofarendsveen lies Café de Haven, a brown café with a surprising kitchen. Since 1876 it has functioned as the living room of the village, where you can enjoy a homely atmosphere and tasty dishes. The terrace on the water offers a beautiful view of the passing boats, while inside the warm ambiance invites you to take a cozy break.

The Mariahoeve is a centuries-old farm between the green meadows in the South Holland lake area of which the Wijde Aa lake is part. This rustic lake is located at Ofwegen, a hamlet between Hoogmade and Woubrugge.

Sailing camp de Wijde Aa is located in a very special place in the Netherlands. In the middle of the green polder after which we are named and close to Amsterdam and Leiden. This is the place to learn to sail and experience the best summer of your life. The still-turning windmill is the beautiful center of our sailing school. A unique location where we have been spending summers, eating and living since 1958. For almost 70 years, students from all over the country have been teaching children to sail here. But we also happily share the typical Wijde Aa songs, games and all the fun with the ‘campers’ every year. In addition, we are affiliated with the CWO (Water Sports Training Committee) so that we can award nationally recognized sailing diplomas.
