Every June 13, the inhabitants of Navacerrada carry out a pilgrimage here and in this way honor the Italian saint.

Valsaín pine surrounded at its base by a red iron chain, with the dates of birth and death of the father of the person who ordered it to be placed. That chain can be enlarged with new links to grow as the tree does, and it has been there since 1924.

Beautiful dam, especially when it is up to the top of the water, in possibly one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Beautiful views!

This reservoir is not used to generate energy or to irrigate crops, its main purpose is to supply water to the majority of towns in the Sierra de Guadarrama, which suffered from supply problems during the 1950s. As its waters are for human consumption, bathing or any recreational activity is not allowed, except fishing, with prior authorization. Traffic around its perimeter is restricted at some points.
