Built in the early 16th century, it was one of the chapels that emerged in the outlying neighborhoods of Almagro. In the 17th century, it was expanded to include the chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows. In the 19th century, it housed images from the nearby Hermitage of Santiago, which was in poor condition. It was destroyed during the Civil War and rebuilt in the 1980s by architect Miguel Fisac, who applied modern techniques such as the use of white concrete in flexible formwork for the porch.

Destroyed in the 1936 war, it also housed the Brotherhood of Santiago, since its hermitage disappeared in the 19th century. On July 23, 1983, the new hermitage was inaugurated on the ruins of the old one. The porch, covered with white concrete cast in flexible formwork, is particularly noteworthy.

Vizcayo Mine: Be careful if you're riding a bike; the hole in the ground isn't easily visible due to the undergrowth. Go slowly when approaching. It's very close to the sign.

La Venta de Borondo is a historic inn located between Bolaños de Calatrava and Manzanares, in the province of Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha. Built in the 16th century, this inn is known for its typical period architecture, with a rectangular floor plan, two floors, a turret on one corner, and a central courtyard. It is believed that La Venta de Borondo may have inspired Miguel de Cervantes in his work "Don Quixote de la Mancha," as these inns were common during long voyages of the time. Currently, the inn is used as a farmhouse and second home.
