Built in the early 16th century, it was one of the chapels that emerged in the outlying neighborhoods of Almagro. In the 17th century, it was expanded to include the chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows. Destroyed in the 1936 war, it also housed the Brotherhood of Santiago, since its hermitage disappeared in the 19th century. On July 23, 1983, the new hermitage was inaugurated on the ruins of the old one. The porch, covered with white concrete cast in flexible formwork, is particularly noteworthy.
