Montelle Spicchio. On Thursday 19 June we walked this walk. Beautiful varied route. We found the route quite difficult. We walked the route counterclockwise. After the top there were two moments that require attention. One is that there was so much vegetation hanging over the path a few times that you really had to keep an eye on the path. So pay attention to the ground. At the second moment we missed a turn to the left and ended up in dead-end bushes. Anyway, pay attention. This is not a route that can be walked blindly.

In this place, at Pian delle Macinare, you can enjoy a splendid view of the surrounding mountains.

Monte Culumeo rises to about 1251 meters above sea level. From this position, it is possible to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view, with particular attention to the imposing presence of Monte Cucco which rises to the north-west.

Here a beautiful panorama opens up towards the ridge that leads to Monte Lo Spicchio, and you can also see Monte Cucco with its eastern slope.

From here we can see the path that leads to Monte Culumeo, while to the east we have Monte La Croce.

From here we can enjoy the panorama of the gorge towards the north-east, but towards the west we can also see the Hermitage of San Girolamo, the retreat place of Blessed Tommaso da Costacciaro.

Costacciaro is a medieval village in the province of Perugia, located along the historic Via Flaminia in the Monte Cucco Regional Park with a museum dedicated to the park. It is a starting point for many paths to visit the famous karst caves of Monte Cucco.

Costacciaro, located at 567m, was founded around 1250 by the community of Gubbio as a fortification against the nearby fortress of Sigillo, held by the community of Perugia. It is located within the Monte Cucco Regional Park.
