The Cathedral of San Nicolò is the spiritual heart of Noto, a masterpiece of Sicilian Baroque with its majestic golden stone façade and spectacular staircase. Rebuilt after the 1693 earthquake, it dominates the city with its elegant domes and sober but solemn interiors. Opposite stands Palazzo Ducezio, the town hall, with its harmonious neoclassical façade punctuated by elegant arches. Built in the 18th century, the palace is famous for its Hall of Mirrors, a sumptuous room decorated in Rococo style. Together, the cathedral and palace create one of the most iconic views of Baroque Sicily.

In Noto, not far from some churches that have made Sicilian Baroque famous throughout the world, there is a remarkable open-air velodrome. It is named after Paolo Pilone, a now deceased track cyclist. It can be experienced more or less always and in every way: not infrequently, children play football inside the track, on which anyone can take a ride.

Be careful in the parking lot. Unfortunately, cars are often broken into here. Do not leave valuables behind and do not store bags in plain sight in the car.
