Europe's highest active volcano: Its height varies due to constant eruptions, but usually remains around 3,357 meters. This makes it the most prominent landmark in Sicily. Catania's Pescheria is the city's ancient fish market. Now a tourist attraction, it remains the place where locals stock up on their catch. Surrounding it are a wide variety of restaurants and bars, which are very popular even in the evenings.

Along the coastal road, you can admire both the beaches of Catania and Mount Etna. At 3,403 meters high, the volcano is particularly spectacular when the summit craters are covered in snow.

The center of Catania with its historic buildings and beautiful squares, as well as the inviting promenade is simply beautiful and worth a visit.

From 9th to 11th May, feast of the Patron Saints Alfio, Filadelfo and Cirino. Among the crucial moments of the festival we remember the exit of the Nuri (naked): At 1:00 on May 10th the Nuri riding the Giro Santo. They are bare-chested, barefoot men, wearing only a pair of short white trousers and a red ribbon, holding one hand behind their back and a candle or a bouquet of flowers in the other. They run through the streets of Lentini remembering the tour that the Holy Martyrs made, amidst atrocious suffering, around the ancient city walls. The women also arrive behind them, barefoot.
