Magnificent views of the Cairngorms and several lochs. So close to Aviemore, it's like being in another world! Fantastic!

Loch Gamhna is a beautiful body of water lilies. The Thieves' Road north of Loch Gamhna was used centuries ago by cattle thieves as an access route to Strathspey. Hoping that the thieves would spare the herds, locals tied a few cows to a tree by Loch Gamhna, thus giving it its name.

The Cairngorms National Park (English: Cairngorms National Park/ Scottish Gaelic: Pàirc Nàiseanta a' Mhonaidh Ruaidh, the Red Mountains) is a national park in Scotland. It is located in the Scottish Highlands, between Inverness, Aberdeen and Perth. The park covers 4528 km². The rivers Dee, Spey and Avon rise in this area. The core of the area is formed by a massif with the higher peaks of the highlands, there are a number of pass crossings. The area takes its name from the mountain Cairn Gorm (Scottish Gaelic: An Càrn Gorm, meaning Blue or Green Mountain). Large parts of the area lie above the tree line. The highest mountain in the area 'the Cairngorms' is Ben Macdui, with a peak at 1,309 m. Due to the continuous nature of the mountains and relatively high valleys, the long valley Lairig Ghru is at 835 m, a mountain climate prevails. The Cairngorms mountain range forms the core of the nature reserve of the same name, the largest continuous nature reserve in Great Britain. The rivers are home to salmon, among other things.

Loch an Eilein is a small irregularly shaped freshwater loch in the Rothiemurchus Forest, about 5 km (3.1 mi) south of Aviemore, Scotland in the Cairngorms National Park. Loch an Eilein comes from the Scottish Gaelic and means 'Loch of the Island'. The loch is considered to be of great beauty and walks around it are popular. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries the loch was mainly used for two things. On the shores of the loch there is a limestone kiln where limestone was collected from a cliff face overlooking the loch. Lumberjacks also used the connecting river to float logs to the timber processing factories downstream. Rob Roy and other cattle rustlers used the loch and one side of the loch is called 'Robbers Way'. Only three houses remain on the loch. One of the former farm sites is now used as the location for the Loch an Eilein Gallery.

In some places the path is not really easy to walk on, but somehow you can get through
