The hike to the Moiry Hut in Switzerland is a stunning alpine route that starts near the turquoise waters of the Moiry Glacier reservoir in the Val d’Anniviers. From the parking area at the end of the lake, the trail climbs steadily along rocky paths and grassy slopes, with the glacier’s icy tongue and surrounding peaks coming into view. The hike is moderately challenging, gaining around 500 meters in elevation over roughly 2.5–3 kilometers, and offers jaw-dropping views the entire way. At the Moiry Hut, perched at 2,825 meters, you’re rewarded with a close-up panorama of the glacier, hearty Swiss hut food, and a perfect spot to soak in the high-alpine atmosphere. For every step of the climb and a safe return, the Teva Grandview Max GTX boots provided grip on rocky trails, the waterproof GORE-TEX membrane keeping my feet dry, and the heel lock system giving me confidence on steep descents. The path winds steadily upward from Glenmore, opening to views of the Cairngorms before dropping into the quiet glen where the emerald waters of the lochan shimmer in the light. A short way further, you’ll find Ryvoan Bothy, a classic Highland shelter and the perfect spot for a rest before looping back. On the rocky sections and steady climbs, the Teva Hurricane Daybreaker Boots kept us feeling secure and supported, letting us move with confidence over mixed terrain.
