It's the most beautiful square in Alicante, and pleasant even on hot days thanks to its many trees. The giant ficus trees are particularly impressive. Small tapas bars and restaurants are located around the square.

It's worth going up the castle just for the views that accompany us along the way. I recommend entering from Eret Park. P.S. Admission to the castle is free :)

The Santa Barbara Castle dates back to the 11th century and has been expanded or rebuilt several times in the years since.
