Roque de los Muchachos, situated on the rim of the Caldeira crater, is the highest peak on La Palma at 2,426 meters. From here, the entire island lies at your feet. On the horizon, Tenerife, La Gomera, and El Hierro float in the shimmering silver Atlantic. Below you, the rugged depths of the Caldeira de Taburiente open up, often shrouded in trade wind clouds. The telescope landscape of the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (ORM) is also impressive and photogenic. Over 20 telescopes are set up here, exploring the cosmos. The ORM is one of the largest observatories in the world. Nowhere else will you feel so close to the stars. You absolutely shouldn't miss this breathtaking region on La Palma – come hike, explore, and marvel.

The Buracas Caves are a prehistoric and ethnographic site on the island of La Palma, located near Las Tricias. The archaeological site consists of natural caves that were once inhabited, necropolises, and three groups of geometric petroglyphs.

It's amazing how the telescopes are positioned here, and how our ears are open to the universe. The road up is free to use and leads directly past the telescopes.

We started our circular hike from here. This small village church is also worth visiting.
