"The chapel Las Angustias has been located in the picturesque gorge called Las Angustias. Dedicated to Virgen de las Angustias. In the 16th century, the Spaniards built the first chapel there on the La Palma island. Up today, it's an important place of worship for La Palma inhabitants. Every year, August, 15th there is a pilgrimage there. Gothic-Flemish style wooden polychromes inside the chapel depicts Virgen de las Angustias with her dead son on her laps." © Mirek Zabski

There's also a small supermarket in the village, uphill to the left above the church. It's a good place to stop for a break.

The beach is located right in Puerto de Tazacorte, with all its restaurants. Water and black lava sand—what more could you want? At the northern end, the water is protected from the surf by a breakwater (or was it once a pier?). All in all, quite nice ☺

One of the few sandy beaches (black sand) on La Palma. There are a few taverns, nothing particularly outstanding, but enough for a beer or a coffee. The scenery is beautiful, the harbor pier less so. The sunset at this spot is absolutely worth seeing – the light and colors are impressive – and that alone makes the visit worthwhile.

Restaurant was renovated in 2024 by new owner and has become a vegetarian restaurant. Mainly Italian dishes. Tastes delicious and a lot of use of local ingredients.

Steep section for a few kilometers. Probably the harder part of the climb.

It looks very spectacular and you can walk through the riverbed all the way to the sea.
