From the busy Route de Lamain, you can take this beautiful path to the country lanes leading to Espléchon. You'll immediately find yourself on a slow road instead of the paved Rue des Quatre Chins.

On a bend in Rue Louis Pion, you'll find this large Calvary chapel. It is believed to have been part of a Way of the Cross at the time.

It's striking that the church doesn't appear to have a tower when viewed from the street. Yet, it does have one: a small, square tower without a spire.

Although this church dates back to the 18th century, its history dates back to the 13th century, with a rather remarkable episode in the 17th century: In 1664, a report from the archdeacon of the deanery of Tournai described the church's dilapidated state: "Under the high altar, there is a window without glass, except for a small hole filled with bricks, through which light enters. It rains so heavily that it pours onto the altar. The canons of Antoing, who received a large portion of the tithes, refused to contribute anything, forcing the common citizens to repair the entire choir. Confronted with their stubborn refusal to meet their obligations, the bishop requested: 'Monsieur de Saint-Archange, as bailiff of the place, to bring an action, both for the repair of the church and for the payment of the priest's salary by the tithe collectors, before the bailiwick or elsewhere.'" "The church was partially rebuilt in brick, and the bell tower was restored in 1749. The war memorial in front of the small church in Lamain commemorates the military and civilian victims of the First and Second World Wars. The text on the memorial reads: "Lamain, to his glorious deaths."

A memorial plaque is built into the wall of the former town hall, honoring René Lefebvre, after whom the street is also named. Lefebvre (1893-1976) was mayor of Lamain from 1921 until his death. From 1945 to 1961, he also held various ministerial positions. In 1966, he was appointed Minister of State. The memorial stone in Lamain was installed in 1971 to commemorate 50 years of mayoralty.

A chapel built into the facade of a large farmhouse is dedicated to "Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur." Below the altar stands an iron arch bearing two names: "Heddebaut" and "Leclerc," perhaps the chapel's founders.
