Église Saint-Paul (St. Paul's Church) in Strasbourg The Église Saint-Paul, or St. Paul's Church, is a Protestant church in the neo-Gothic style. It is located in the picturesque Neustadt (German Quarter) directly on the Ill River. Its prominent location invites photography. The most beautiful photos are taken especially in spring, when nature is in full bloom. It's worth taking a look inside. Some of the original church windows have been preserved. The large rose window with a diameter of 8 meters is also impressive. The Protestant garrison church was built between 1892 and 1897. The architect was Louis Muller. The façade is lined with two 76-meter-high towers. The style and color scheme are inspired by St. Elizabeth's Church in Marburg. St. Paul's Church has a seating capacity of 2,000 people. The weir was originally built as a defensive structure, allowing downstream areas to be flooded if necessary. Today, there's a pedestrian crossing over the Ill River on two levels: inside or on the roof. It's refreshingly cool inside in summer, and you can admire baroque stone figures in some niches. From the top, you'll enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the Old Town. 👍

From here, you have a good view of the Georges Frankhauser Passage. You have to push your bike through the passage.

Avoid driving during rush hour, on weekends and public holidays! It can get very crowded!
